pasalubong treat from SUSIE'S CUISINE

Long weekend of August, yehey! For me and my kids, we decided to go home in Pampanga. Have a visit with my relatives and to celebrate as well my father's birthday in the simplest way we can.

After 2 hours of traveling of-course traffic is included from Manila to Dau, Papa now is waiting at the terminal. Kids and I are too excited to kiss him greet him a Happy birthday. But then, papa is kinda sad (for sure alang pera hehehe). Waley handa sa bahay.. ayun yun oh! I told him ok lang yan! Mag fast food resto nalang kami. But he refused it. Ayun si father nakapag isep agad dahil meron daw syang alam na mas masarap na bilihan!

From Dau Terminal going to Mabalacat town proper, he turn left and then nag U-turn sa kabilang kalsada. We step out of the car and then he point out a not too small shop. I thought it was a restaurant. According to him, this store is famous because of their authentic style of taste for their delicacies and pasalubong product.  I also found out na dito rin pala nila binibili ang mga kakanin na hinahapag nila sa mga bisita namin tuwing may okasyon!

Let me now introduced to you ......

HOLY WEEK, PAMPANGA

Holy Week in the Christian year is the week immediately before Easter. Though, it has a deeper meaning for every catholic people and has their own way of sacrificing, but most of us grab this opportunity to take their vacation leave at work and spent it in different summer places.
For me, we never forget to go home to our place, my hometown, Agusu, Mabalacat, Pampanga, because, it is important to each of us to witness a tremendous tradition of “Penitensya”. During holyweek, people helping each other to build their Pabasa station. Some donate cash other’s cooked some food to share for those who visits and joined the reading or singing of the holy book (im sorry i have no idea about the book or how do people call about it).

SAINT JUDE PABASA (LALAM ACACIA)

A squad of penitensiya boys from nearby barangay, neighbors and i think of these are probably my relatives, i guess!....

Old women has also the power to sacrifice in this kind of penitence....

THE READERS OR SHOULD I SAY SINGERS...
Halos matatanda talaga ang mga kumakanta sa kanitong pabasa....

check out their tune...... play the video....

Couldn't imagine, on how people has got the interest in doing such an agony and passion in sacrificing for his forgiveness.....

feeling tourist....

Kissing the crucifix in every pabasa station, is their way to thank him and ask for guidance....

This three penitensya men stood up under the sun for almost 3hours starting 12:00nn to 3:00pm..

wooden palaspas....
After a long journey, fresh bath is always the best....

I think they want to try it when the grow up, atleast they have the interest and be the one on the next generation........
